Personal information notice

Think Meridian is the data controller for inquiries and bookings at the reading room. This notice explains what is collected, how long it is kept, and the rights you can use. It sits beside the cookie notice. Last updated 21 September 2026.

What we collect

From the inquiry form: your name, email address, chosen visit, preferred date if you give one, an optional collection or question line, and your message. If a booking follows, the room also keeps the fee amount, the transfer reference you use, and attendance. The form does not ask for resident registration numbers, wallet keys, or recovery phrases. Please do not include them.

If you telephone, the staff note the same kinds of details in the daybook.

Why

The details are used to answer the letter, prepare a shelf, hold a Saturday seat, write a brief, send a refund when one is due, and keep the bookkeeping record of a paid visit. The legal bases relied on are your request to arrange a visit, the contract when a visit is confirmed, and duties under Korean bookkeeping rules for amounts actually received.

Retention

Inquiry messages that never become a booking are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Confirmed visits and the related transfer records are kept for the period Korean bookkeeping rules require for those receipts. A collection brief is kept with the commissioning file for five years so a later factual correction can be checked against the packet that was delivered. You may ask for an earlier deletion where the law allows it.

Your rights

Under the Personal Information Protection Act you may ask to see the information the room holds about you, to correct it, to delete it, to suspend processing, and to withdraw consent where consent was the basis. You may also ask for a copy of the inquiry text you sent. Requests go to hello@thinkmeridian.click. The room answers within the period the Act requires. If a record must be kept for tax or for a dispute already opened, the reply will say what remains and why.

You may complain to the Personal Information Protection Commission of Korea if you believe a request was handled poorly. The room asks that you write to it first so a mistake can be corrected directly.

International transfers

Staff read inquiries in Korea. Email in transit may pass through the library’s mail host, which can route a message outside Korea on the way to the room. Think Meridian asks that host to handle mail in line with Korean personal-information rules and uses the correspondence only for the visit you asked about. The library does not sell inquiry data and does not pass it to a marketplace, an artist, or an advertiser. A collection name you mention is used to pull a shelf, not to build a profile for anyone else.

Cookies and typefaces

Preference storage is described in the cookie notice. The pages request typefaces from Google Fonts; that request is explained there as a third-party connection.

Children

Readers under 19 attend with a parent or guardian, who provides the booking details. The room does not knowingly keep a separate marketing list of minors.
